Happy that they finally came to Denver, and this looks like an amazing store. I will go after all the opening fuss is over. Want to see everything..and have swedish meatballs for lunch. I love the bright colors of Scandinavia and the clean lines of the furniture.

Ikea , 20 years ago, had quality furniture because my nephew bought a table and chairs and is still using them. I like the clean and colorful look, nothing is beige or blah. I will wait until after the opening week and will go in specificaly to have lunch with my sons. I hear that it is very good...but didn't know they had such a big restaurant.

Its sad that Ikea was allowed to assault the visual
landscape with that ridicules yellow and blue paint job. Now add this to a huge sign that towers over
everything and I am reminded of an insecure 5 year yelling “look at me”. Unfortunately I drive by this monstrosity 10
times a week. I try not to look at it
but due to is size its difficult. From
this weekend article, it appears Ikea is just another Wallmart. I don’t shop there and I certainly will never
shop Ikea. It’s a shame to state sold
its sole for a tax revenue.

Karen, This is the artist Jay Moore. I stumbled upon this blog and noticed your question. Several years ago a company founded by it's namesake Dick Idol, had my authorization to make a few prints from my paintings. They did not have my permission to retouch, or add brushstrokes to the print with my signature. I have seen these prints and they have the characteristic "twig" frame. I am afraid that what you have is one of these prints and sorry to say the value is minimal. I have never framed my originals in the twig frame. They cannot be compared to the original oils. That also goes in line with why the gallery you approached was not interested. Sorry for the bad news.

I am in the beginning stages of building my own home, and I intend to epoxy my garage floor, keeps the stains out, and looks nicer and feels nicer. I’ve always wondered about the durability of epoxies as well.

Depending upon condition and whether the original glass ink bottle is present, an inkwell from the Real Vienna Bronze would be expected to sell for between $250- $650, although if sold on a site like eBay you can usually expect the selling price to be less (unless the piece is highly desirable- some leopard castings are most certainly considered so). Were it to be further signed by a specific artist, that will raise price, so be sure to look the piece over carefully, as the artist's mark may not be located in the same place as the foundry mark.

Oh, and whatever you do, be sure your mother knows not to clean the bronze! Dusting is about all you should really do to it. Water may well leave terrible black spots that will never come off, and cleaners will completely destroy the patina, and this, its natural color as it ages, is were a good one to two-thirds of the value will come in on a piece like yours where there is no attributable artist.
